Our work speaks for itselfAll Day Focus – Immerse in Antigua’s Palm Sunday Celebrations ~ While based in Antigua, you’ll dive deep into one of the most spectacular Holy Week traditions in the Americas
Morning – Local Coffee & Antigua Awakening
We begin the day with a relaxed coffee stop at one of Antigua’s beloved local cafés. Enjoy a freshly brewed Guatemalan coffee (perhaps a single-origin from the nearby highlands) while soaking in the colonial atmosphere. This is the perfect moment to chat with your guides and fellow riders about the day ahead and the vibrant energy building in the city for Palm Sunday.
Mid-Morning – Short Scenic Ride Around Antigua
After coffee, we gear up for a gentle, guided motorcycle ride through and around the historic streets and outskirts of Antigua Guatemala. This short loop (approximately 1–2 hours) lets you experience the city from the saddle of your Aprilia Tuareg:
Colonial architecture and cobblestone charm
Views of the surrounding volcanoes (Aguas, Fuego, and Acatenango)
Quiet back roads and picturesque viewpoints
The ride is relaxed and designed to give you a feel for the area without long distances, leaving plenty of energy for the main event.
Afternoon & Evening – Palm Sunday Processions, Alfombras & Holy Week Celebrations
We return to the heart of Antigua in time to join the city’s world-famous Palm Sunday (Domingo de Ramos) festivities. Semana Santa in Antigua is one of the most spectacular cultural and religious experiences in the Americas, and today you’ll be right in the middle of it.
Alfombras (Sawdust Rugs) — Admire the stunning, temporary street carpets made of colored sawdust, flowers, and natural materials.
Alfombras (Sawdust Rugs) — These masterpieces are created overnight and processed over during the parades.
Elaborate Processions — Watch massive, ornate floats (andas) carried through the streets by hundreds of devotees.
End your day with a memorable meal at Casa Escobar in Antigua. Their signature Tomahawk Steak is a standout — a massive, perfectly grilled cut with rich flavor and tender texture, served with local sides and bold Guatemalan flair.
